Cairo - Two Day Tour From Eilat Israel (requires a full Egyptian visa) Tour to Cairo/Egypt from Israel-Eilat Day One - The tour departs at 5:30am passing the Taba border into Egypt and crossing the Sinai desert and Suez Canal. Around 13:00 we stop for lunch in Cairo before continuing on to the only remaining wonder of the ancient world - the great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, we take our time exploring the pyramids and learn of Egypts rich and fascinating past. We continue out tour into Cairo and by evening settle into our comfortable 4* hotel. (Egyptian folklore evening or Nile cruise evening meal available at a small supplement). Day Two- Following breakfast we spend the morning exploring the famous and vast Cairo Museum. Here most of Egypts priceless treasures can be viewed, including the treasures retrieved from the burial chamber of Tuthankhamun. After lunch we visit the highlights of old Cairo and take time to experience the sights and sounds of the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar. From here we begin our return journey to Eilat, arriving at approx. 21.00. Here we either enjoy the Arabian bazaar or take in the serene Red Sea views from the local beach. Continuing on to the sandstone area we stop at the ‘Rock of Inscriptions'. Some of the historical inscriptions on this rock date back up to 2000 years. From here we head straight to the towering red granite mountains of the high range where both St. Catherine's monastery and Mt. Sinai are found. We enjoy our evening meal and settle for the night at Morganland or Plaza hotel. Day two– Early morning we begin our ascent on Mount Sinai, walking in the footsteps of the devoted pilgrims who tread this route centuries earlier. We should reach the summit just before dawn in time to witness its incredible sunrise and splendid views. Descending the mountain we return to the hotel for breakfast. We spend the later part of morning touring the monastery of St. Catherine, taking in its fascinating and unique sights and exceptional history. Following lunch we board our car, leaving the high range behind us as we head west to Cairo and get there by evening. The night in 4* H.B. (Optional Egyptian folklore evening or Nile dinner a cruise) Day three - After breakfast we go straight to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, we explore these impressive sites and hear of their rich and colorful history. We continue to Memphis and Sakkara and by evening bring the day to a close experiencing the sights and sounds of the Khan El Halili bizarre. overnight in our 4* hotel. (Optional Egyptian folklore evening or Nile dinner a cruise) Day four - Following breakfast we spend the whole morning the huge Cairo Museum, here we find the treasures of Tutankhamun and other Ancient Egyptian nobility (supplement for museum Mummy Room:$12). After lunch we visit all the major cultural sights of ancient Cairo, including the Mohamed Ali Mosque, Coptic churches and a brief encounter with the notorious 'city of the dead' commencing our return journey to Eilat, arriving at approx. 22.00.

8 day tour to Egypt, Cairo, Pyramids, Luxor, Aswan + Nile Cruise Participants in this tour may arrive directly at Cairo international airport or from Israel or Jordan by flight from Tel Aviv or overland from Eilat, Petra or Aqaba via Sinai. We arrange all transportation and travel logistics. Day 1- Arriving overland from Israel or directly into Cairo international airport. Transportation to hotel, settling in - briefing and evening meal. Day 2 – Beginning our Egypt tour in classic style we explore the very symbols of Egypt. The Pyramids of Giza and the famous Sphinx. Here we begin our adventure into the heart of Egypt, it's wondrous views and attractions and uncover its mysterious past. We visit ancient Memphis and explore the tombs of its nobility at the Saqqara necropolis. This is also the site of the famous Step Pyramid. Day 3- We begin today exploring the the treasures of the world-renowned Egyptian museum. Here we can see many of the priceless treasures retrieved from the Pharaohs tombs, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. This is a day which encompasses the stark contrasts of Cairo life, we venture into the old city and explore it's many sights of cultural interest including the Coptic churches and the Mohamed Ali mosque. We take some leisure time and experience the many sights and sounds of the Khan el Halili bizarre before returning to our hotel to relax and evening meal. Day 4- We begin today on morning flight from Cairo to Luxor (Aswan if doing the itinerary in reverse order) from the airport we go directly to our Nile cruise boat (Faluccas are available upon request). Today we first visit Luxor (Thebes) capital of ancient Egypt , here we find the spectacular temple complex dedicated to the God triad - Amun, Mut and Chons. We see the remains of the avenue of sphinx's which originally connect the temple of Luxor to the temple of Karnak and we don't leave Luxor without fist visiting the ruins of Karnak. Here the temple complex is overwhelmingly huge in all dimensions. It's the second most popular site in Egypt after the pyramids of Giza. The utter vastness and its enormous structures, make it unique in the ancient world. We explore the Precinct of Amon-Re, by far the largest of all Egypts temple halls. Day 5- On the opposite banks of the Nile we visit the Valley of the Kings where Egypts Pharaohs and royalty were entombed, we explore at least one of the major tombs that are open to the public (various tombs are opened at the discretion of the authorities, depending on ongoing excavations) We also visit the Valley of the Queens where the pharaoh's wives and close relations were entombed in decorative burial chambers. Day 6- Sailing on to Edfu - horse drawn carriages take us to the magnificent Temple of Horus (the Falcon God). This temple is one of the most significant historical sites in all Egypt. The site remains in excellent condition and the finds here give a fascinating insight into the lives, culture and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians Day 7- A relaxing cruise takes us to Kom Umbo where we stop to visit the temple. The temple here is dedicated to the crocodiles of the Nile whom the early Egyptians believed brought the water of the Nile. There is a mummified crocodile and an ancient measure for measuring the water level. We continue along the Nile to Upper Egypt and Aswan. Day 8- Aswan offers a host of attractions and we take is as many as time will allow including the Island of Elephantine (ancient fortress and center for ivory trade) and the Island Philae (and its temple complex), the famous ‘Unfinished Obelisque' and the high damn. Here we leave our Nile cruise boat and begin our return journey at the Aswan airport. Optional extra day: Abu Simbel - The Temples of Ramses and Nefertari are a short flight south (bus optional) of Aswan in Abu Simbel, perhaps the most prominent of Egypts Shrines they are unique in both their location and their architecture.
Accommodation is in good hotels but up-grades available upon request. Tours based on domestic flights but trains can be used -We can opt for the train from Cairo to Luxor (8hours) or to Aswan (12 hours) the train is equipped with bunks so we can sleep en route, breakfast and dinner are provided. The tour includes guides, transportation (incl. Transfers, cruise, train, flights – where applicable) all meals, entrance fees to all sites. Egypt tours- Western Desert & Egypts Major Sights- 11 Day Tour This tour into Egypt including the Western Desert (Egyptian Sahara)explores many of the elements that make this incredible land so unique. In the White Desert we hike through the distinctive mushroom formations. We visit the bustling oasis of Farafra and Baharia, where sprawling orchards and date plantations cover the landscape. Leaving the desert at Luxor we board our cruise ship and begin our adventure into the more familiar aspects of Egypt. We start and end this fantastic tour in the city of Cairo: Day One- Arriving in Cairo airport or overland from Eilat and Taba. Visiting The Great Pyramids at Giza and the bazaar of Khan el Khalili. Overnight at 3* Egyptian hotel. Day Two- Leaving Cairo and driving to the Western Desert Oasis town of Bahariya. Touring the oasis plantations and town before departing for the White Desert. Setting up overnight camp Days Three to Four- Exploring the wondrous sights and scenery of the majestic White desert. Each day we take a hiking route exploring different elements of the desert. In these endless expanses and under the exasperating night skies you cannot forget that you are wondering on the very sands of the great Sahara desert. Day Five- Heading into the Western white desert where the stark white rock meets the Great Sea of Sand. We delve a little into the great sand sea to take in the spectacular views of the endless waves of shifting sands . From here we reach the oasis town of Farafra. We visit the Bedouin museum and spend the night at a local hotel. Day Six- From Farafra we travel due south covering a lot of terrain and taking in the sights enroute before we reach remote oasis town of Dakhla here we spend the night. Day Seven- Setting off early from Dakhla we head east in the direction of Luxor we stop at the oasis town of Kharga, visiting the ancient irrigation system of Um Dabadeb and the sand dunes of Gharsa e lLlivha. We continue on to The valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens which face Luxor from the western banks of the Nile. Day Eight - We get settled on our Nile Cruise boat (the most practical way to see the major sights of Egypt). We first tour Luxor Temples and the Karnak Temples before taking in the major sights of the Valley of the Kings. Here we enter the most prominent tombs that open during our visit before visiting the temples at the Valley of the Queens. Day Nine - We continue on to the temple of Horus at Edfu (the Falcon God). Horse drawn carrraiges take us from our vessel to the site of the temple. We tour the site before returning to our boat. Day Ten - Kom Umbo; the Nile is the singular most important asset that Egypt has, this is a true today asin ancient times. The Temple of Kom Umbo is testomy to the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians regarding the Nile. Within the temple we find a mummified crocodile god and an ancient water level. Having explored the Komumbo Temple we continue our cruise to Aswan. Day Eleven- Taking in The highlights of Aswan including Elepnitine Island, The unfinished Obelisque and the Island of Philae. We leave the boat and return by air from Aswan to Cairo. Here we pick up where we left off at the start of the tour using the time we have left.
