Petra and Pyramids - 3 & 4 Day Tours
Highlights of Jordan and Egypt, we offer a selection of short Petra, Wadi Rum, Cairo and Pyramid tours and customize all tours to suit individual requirements
This four day Petra and Pyramids tour begins in Eilat, but can also be started in Cairo or Amman. In 4 days only (or even 3, if you have to) we are able of covering those wonders of the ancient world.
Day 1 - We enter Jordan. From the border crossing the tour heads straight to Petra. At the entrance to the site we leave our vehicles and commence the walk (horses optional) to the imposing Siq Canyon. A 1/2 hr walk through its towering canyon walls leads us into Petra. We tour the lost city on foot, exploring the main archeological sites. We stop for a refreshing buffet lunch at a restaurant inside Petra and following lunch clients have free time during the afternoon to continue exploring Petra. Many clients choose to continue up to the Monastery (El Deir) or the High Place of Sacrifice. We walk back to Petra's entrance (participants may hire the services of the traditional transport providers, mules, camels and horse-drawn carriages). Clients opting for local hotels will be provided accommodation near Petra, those choosing the outdoor desert experience will continue on to a simple Bedouin camp where we enjoy a traditional evening meal and settle in for the night
Day 2 - Following breakfast we board 4X4 jeeps, driven by professional Bedouin drivers and journey to the famous sandstone area of Wadi Rum. We go off-road into its unique landscape and get well off the beaten track to explore rarely traveled ancient merchant routes. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors whilst taking in some of the Rums most outstanding sights and scenery. The tour includes the Seven Pillars, Khaz Ali canyon and Jabel Um Asharin. By evening we arrive in Aqaba where we take short walk through its Arabian market before crossing back into Israel. A short drive takes us to the Egyptian border and on to one of Sinai's beautiful beach resorts, where we spend the night.
Day 3 – Getting off to an early start we leave our hotel around 6:30 am and reach Cairo around 10:30, upon arrival in Cairo we enjoy a refreshing brunch before commencing our Cairo tour. Rested and ready we begin to explore the highlights of Cairo and delve into its incredible history and rich Egyptian heritage. First we tour the only surviving wonder of the ancient world; The Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. We explore this impressive site taking in the many interesting facts and sights along the way. During the afternoon we enjoy a short Nile cruise on a Felucca (traditional Egyptian sailboat) and by early evening make our way to the Khan El Khalili bazaar, Cairo's world-renowned oriental market. From here we head to our hotel, clients may choose the restaurant in their hotel or to enjoy dinner in one of Cairo's tourist standard restaurants.
Day 4 - Following breakfast we spend much of the morning exploring the massive Egyptian Museum. Here much of Egypt's priceless treasures are found, including the riches of Tutankhamen. After lunch we walk the picturesque lanes of Old Cairo, with it's ancient Coptic churches, convents and Synagogue. We conclude our visit in Cairo by visiting the famous Mohamed Ali mosque. From here we commence our return journey to Eilat, arriving at approx. 21.00.

This tour involves an early start and includes a guided tour of St Catherines Monastery and ascending Mount Sinai. It is a very active one-day trip for the more energetic travelers only. We begin the tour with St Catherines monastery touring its fascinating grounds and historic treasures. Having left St. Catherine's monastery we take a picnic lunch and begin our ascent on the ancient pilgrim trail of Mt. Sinai, (Biblical Mount Horeb) known in Arabic as Jabel Musa (Moses Mountain). A two hour walk takes us to the very summit where we rest and take in the vast and inspiring views. Having descended the moutain we return to our vehicle and drive to a local Bedouin village for a local Bedouin style dinner. Returning to Taba by 22:00. Option 2 for day 5: Full day Jeep and Camel tour
The program of this tour is similar to the above tour (one-day Sinai by Jeep). Upon reaching the oasis we leave the 4x4 behind us and board camels - lead by local Bedouin camel handlers.W e then follow a picturesque camel route for approx 2 1/2 hours as the sun is setting in the Sinai skies. This is the most serene and traditional way to experience the desert. It is surprisingly comfortable and relaxing and gives an authentic desert experience of travelers from times gone by. We return to Sinai hotels or Eilat by evening. To other tours of Jordan.
