View this page for details that all Petra visitors need to know Visa info to Jordan 2016

We take your passport details before the tour and arrange the visa for you.  You receive it at the border on the day of your trip. The visa costs $60 for visitors to Petra and there is a further $65 charge for the border taxes so the total border fee on the day is $125 (or $133 if paying by credit card).  People spending two nights or more in Jordan get the Visa for free and since hotels are more comfortably priced than those in Eilat it's an option that a lot of our guests go for. Just one night in Jordan reduces the Petra Entrance fee by $60, so for most people it's definitely worth staying a night or two and taking in more of the sights. Of course you can arrange a visa in advance if you wish but you'll find it's cheaper and more convenient to simply do it through us. Tips: We recommend min of $10 per client per day.
People  who choose to spend a night in Aqaba before their tour will receive transportation right to their hotel, including help crossing the border.

Tours to Petra from Sharm el Sheik, Egypt - 1 day tour
Since there is so much to see in Petra it is important we make good use of our time. You are collected around 4:00 from your hotel in Sharm el Sheik, to ensure we are amongst the first to arrive at the border crossing. Our staff will guide you efficiently through the Taba border and will drive you to the border with Jordan. As you cross to Jordan your tour guide and tour staff will meet you. Here your Jordanian guide will take care of the border procedures and once the visas are issued we are on our way to Petra.
Your tour is exclusively Desert Eco Tours. We operate daily tours in mini buses' and places are limited ensuring our tours run smoothly and spend more time in Petra, approx 4 –5 hours.
Once aboard the mini bus, you will receive bottled mineral water. It is not permitted to take food or drink into Jordan from Israel.
You now begin the two-hour drive to Petra via Aqaba and the famous Wadi Rum. Your specialist guide will give you an in-depth briefing on the history of Jordan and its culture. As you reach the Wadi Rum area the red desert scenery is particularly striking and we take a moment to take in the remarkable views. This area was the base of TE Lawrence during the Arab revolt (Lawrence of Arabia). Nearing Petra we stop once more at a viewpoint overlooking the town of Wadi Musa (Moses Valley) and on a hilltop in the distance we can see the shrine, which marks the grave of Aaron, Moses' brother.
From the visitors' center at Petra's entrance, we walk to the Siq Canyon. Horses are available for this walk but a tip is expected from the handlers ($5). We suggest participants walk with their guide to the Siq. On the route we see the ‘Silica Quarries', The Jinn Blocks and the first large site the ‘Obelisk Tomb'. At the entrance to the Siq we see the stone damn that protects Petra from floods and the ancient drainage channels of the site. Entering the Siq we see the remains of the Arch that marked the entrance to Petra. We also see the beginning of the Petra's ingenious water system that runs the whole length of the Siq. Within the Siq we find several deities and ancient carvings adorning its towering canyon walls. At the end of the Siq we find Petra's most renowned monument, The Treasury (Khazneh). Here we take a few minutes for photographs before continuing our tour along the impressive Street of Facades towards the Nabataean Theater. We get an impression of some of the most impressive graves, the Royal Tombs. If time allows, we walk along the Colonnade Street and visit the Great Temple. From here we head back to the Siq canyon and Petra's entrance. We take a late lunch at a restaurant in Wadi Mussa, remember that drinks are not included in the tour price (standard practice). Returning from here to Aqaba and Eilat, en route we see the sunset over Wadi Rum and stop briefly at Aqaba's colorful Arabian market (souq). After getting an impression of Jordan's only port city, we return to Eilat than drive back to Taba border and back to your hotel in Sharm el Sheik by late at night.
Note: El Deir (the Monastery), only on private tours due to limited time.

Tours to Jordan from Sharm or Taba: Wadi Rum

Jordan - Petra and Wadi Rum 2 Day Tour from Sharm el Sheik, Egypt
This two day Jordan tour begins in your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, we will pick you up early morning (4:00) or the eve before to spend the night in Taba- near the border, cross Taba border into Israel and drive to Arava border where we enter Jordan. From the Jordanian side of the border the tour heads straight to Petra. At the entrance to Petra we leave our vehicles and commence the walk (horses optional) to the imposing Siq Canyon. A 1/2 hr walk through this incredible canyon leads us into the city of Petra. We tour Petra on foot, exploring the main archeological sites and attractions. Early afternoon we stop for a refreshing buffet lunch at a restaurant within the site, after lunch clients have free-time to visit additional places within Petra. Some choose to walk up to The Monastery (The Deir), others visit The High Place of Sacrifice, while most prefer to enjoy the extra time for photos at the famous sites on the route back through Petra. After touring Petra we check into our nearby hotel or make our way to our Bedouin camp, where we enjoy our evening meal and settle in for the night. Here we have the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring desert night-skies and the wonderful views of the desert by night.
Day 2- Following breakfast we board 4X4 new jeeps, driven by professional Bedouin drivers and journey to the famous sandstone area of Wadi Rum. We go off-road into its unique landscape and get well off the beaten track to explore rarely traveled ancient merchant routes. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors whilst taking in some of the Rums most outstanding scenery. Unlike the majority of tours in Wadi Rum (tourists in hoards along the same old route) this tour gets well away from the tourist groups and busses to explore the less accessible areas of Wadi Rum, areas which remain unspoiled and whose remarkable natural beauty very few tourists get to see. Having explored the outer reaches of the Rum we continue on to Aqaba and enjoy a short visit to Aqaba market before returning to Taba border to complete our tour in your hotel in Sharm el Sheik.
