Tours to Petra and Wadi Rum from Eilat, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
General Info for Jordan tours

There was no one. Listening, I walked into the scrub. The desert does its best talking at night,
but on that spring evening it kept God's whopping silence, and that too is a desert voice.

Visitors to Jordan for less than 2 nights now pay an additional $60 in visa fees, as a  result we are currently advising our 1.5 and 2 day tour guests to add an additional night to their stay in Aqaba before the tour. The advantage of staying 2 nights include a free visa to Jordan, better hotel rates than in Eilat, reduced entrance fees to Petra and a comfortable transfer service included in the booking cost. All in all, this option offers the best value for money.

We take your passport details before the tour and arrange the visa for you.  You receive it at the border on the day of your trip. The visa costs $60 for visitors to Petra and there is a further $65 charge for the border taxes and tips so the total border fee on the day is $125 (or $133 if paying by credit card).  People spending two nights or more in Jordan get the Visa for free and since hotels are more comfortably priced than those in Eilat it's an option that a lot of our guests go for. Just one night in Jordan reduces the Petra Entrance fee by $60, so for most people it's definitely worth staying a night or two and taking in more of the sights.
People  who choose to spend a night in Aqaba or Wadi Rum before their tour will receive transportation right to their hotel, including help crossing the border.
Visitors to Jordan who are not visiting Petra pay $90 for the entrance visa instead of 60$.

Petra and Wadi Rum from Israel and Eilat - Tour Information
This Two day Petra tour from Israel covers many of Petra's main sites and the highlights of the desert scenery found in Jordan's renowned Wadi Rum.
We send passport details to the border a day before the tour, this helps the border procedures to run smoothly both in Israel and Jordan. We begin the pick-up from Eilat hotels and Eilat airport early, in order to avoid delays at the border crossing. Our office staff are responsible for the pickup in Israel and assist clients through the Israeli side of the border. The Jordanian tour staff take over on the Jordanian side and the tour to Petra begins.
The first day of the tour we spend in Petra with the clients taking the one day Petra tour from Eilat . You can hit the link for a full itinerary and we'll also send you further details by mail. At the end of the guided Petra tour these clients leave Petra and head back to Israel. Since your time is not limited you can now continue to further explore Petra without a guide at your own pace and take in additional sites. The guide will be happy to recommend additional sites and give you directions and information on how to reach them. This is a great opportunity to walk up to The Monastery (El Deir) or the High place of Sacrifice.

When you leave Petra a short walk takes you to our office near the entrance of the site. Our colleagues in Jordan are “Jordan Experience” they'll be waiting for you to take you on with your tour and offer any assistance that you require.

Following the Petra tour you will be escorted to your hotel in Petra or Bedouin hospitality camp. We will give you further options and recommendations for accommodation which you can choose from according to your requirements.

In Wadi Rum we use the services of local desert Bedouin with their jeeps. The local Bedouins we work with are selected by us and work with us regularly, these are local guides who are born and raised in Wadi Rum. During your jeep tour the guide will prepare a picnic lunch in the desert and although their English is not fluent, their sincere hospitality makes up for it. These Bedouin offer an interesting insight into the culture and beliefs of Arabian Desert tribes and are well worth making an effort to chat with and to get to know.

The tour takes us off road into the incredible scenery of Wadi rum, we see the Seven Pillars at the entrance before driving deeper into the Wadi where we see its highest mountain Jabel Rum and the ancient rock engravings of the Khaz Ali canyon. Our tour takes us along the most scenic routes of Wadi Rum all in open top jeeps for the complete outdoor experience.

Following our tour of Wadi Rum we leave our jeep and join our vehicle for the return journey back to Israel and Eilat, arriving by evening at your Eilat hotel or Eilat airport.

In the event that you wish to contact us at our office in Israel there is cell phone reception in almost every place in Jordan, you can simply call from your cell phone. In addition you may call us from our Petra office or, if you prefer, you can tell your guide that you want us to contact you. He'll inform the Petra office, they'll call us in Israel, and we'll call either your cell phone or the cell phone of the driver or guide escorting you.
